Summit Entertainment Issue Plea To Stop Breaking Dawn Image Leaks

Summit Entertainment, writer Stephenie Meyer and Bill Condon have responded to some piss-poor quality stills that have been circulating on the internet and film blogs and sites from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Leaks and such are a fact of the business. Consumers and fans want glimpses and a constant drip of information whether it’s newsworthy or not.

They’ve released an “official statement” which will probably fall on deaf ears. Most of the people circulating them are probably die hard twihards wanting a fix. See below for what Meyer, director Bill Condon and producer Wyck Godfrey said in their collective statement:

“As some of you may know, pictures and screen grabs of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn as a work in progress have leaked on the internet. We are extremely proud of this film and also extremely heartbroken to see it out there at this stage. The film and these images are not yet ready or in their proper context. They were illegally obtained and their early dissemination is deeply upsetting to the actors, the filmmakers and Summit who are working so hard to bring these movies to fruition to you in November 2011 and November 2012.

Please, for those who are posting, stop. And please, though the temptation is high, don’t view or pass on these images. Wait for the film in its beautiful, finished entirety to thrill you.

Sincerely,

Stephenie Meyer, Bill Condon, Wyck Godfrey and Summit Entertainment”

It’s certainly a plea to fans and bloggers. Will it work? The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 is released 18th November with Part 2 on 16th November, 2012.
