About
About FilmShaft
The aim of FilmShaft is quite simple, we love films. We love talking film, reviewing film and above all else… watching film!
Beginning with a humble blog called Original Sharp Says back in March 2008, FilmShaft has quickly grown into one of the UK’s biggest sources for film news and reviews. This is largely down to our readers – yes YOU have made FilmShaft the site it is today and you continue to allow us to bring you film and production news on a daily basis thanks to your feedback and loyalty.
FilmShaft would be nothing without it’s readers, so if you have any feedback or suggestions for us then please contact our Editor in Chief using the contact details on this page. And once again – thanks for reading!
Remember – Love Film, Love FilmShaft!
The Team!

Ed Whitfield
Senior Writer
Contact: e.whitfield@filmshaft.com
Ed Whitfield has been a cinephile since the 1980s when an oppressive world drove him away from society and into the sanctum of his local flick parlour. He suffered almost unimaginable cold studying Media Production in Scotland before spending a year watching movies with the Bloomsbury set for his Film Studies MA at University College London.
Alex Wagner

Contact: alex.wagner@filmshaft.com
Alex lives in London and is a huge film geek. He studied courses at the NYFA ranging from Screenwriting, Editing and Film-Making. Alex has sold scripts to fellow students and worked on many small productions across the capital.
Alex has great interest in Japanese cinema even going so far as calling Akira Kurosawa the greatest director that has ever or will ever live. He loves writing, watching films, travelling and football. Being an east Londoner it’s West Ham all the way! With an extensive DVD collection and a supreme love for cinema Alex is incredibly happy to be part of the FILMSHAFT.COM team.
Jamie Sharp

Jamie Sharp is the younger brother of Craig Sharp and has worked in media sales now for many years. Roughly one year ago Jamie gave up the wet and windy weather of good old Blighty to live down under in a life of luxury. Jamies favourite films include Twilight, Moulin Rouge, Sex and the City and basically anything with a bit of style – after all the Australian’s are very particular about style!
