Spider-Man 4 Villain Revealed?

Given the months of speculation surrounding Spider-Man 4 and the possible villain of the piece, it’s almost a relief to be posting this particular update. Jim Dorey of MarketSaw has come into a choice piece of information, if true, it means that Sam Raimi and the powers that be have learned from the mistakes of Spider-Man 3 (i.e. three bloody villains) and are focusing on one character in particular – one that fans have been crying out for – The Lizard!
According to MarketSaw:
We all pretty much knew that either The Lizard and/or Carnage would be in this movie and now we have word that it will be The Lizard ONLY. No multiple villains. Again, strong source here. Of course, things could change – but it is highly doubtful.
I couldn’t be happier! SPIDER-MAN 3 suffered from too many story lines in my mind and with only one villain, Sam Raimi can focus on the character development and really build Dr. Curt Connors / The Lizard the way it should be. If there are too many bad guys you lose the connection – it is a good thing to almost feel bad for them when they lose (or win as the case may be). It is very hard to develop two villains within the same movie and establish that honest mind meld with them.
Until we get some official confirmation on this I’d treat it as a damn good rumour. But what do you think? Are you happy about the chance to see the Lizard on-screen or would you have chosen a different villain?

The Lizard is one of my favorite villains and definatly a good choice for the 4th film. Thing about the Lizard is that his storyline doesn't take too much time (unlike the whole symbiote story they had to attach for Venom) and they already have quite a good actor. I'm glad they're not using Carnage (they couldn't do him justice with the rating) but I'm curious on what the Lizard will look like on the big screen.

It HAS to be the Lizard!! I mean come on already- Dylan Baker is there (and has been ) and primed and ready for his tranformation into the Lizard. It makes too much sense on too many levels to ignore any longer! The Black Cat could also be added as a recurring role as both villain/ally in this film and the 5th and 6th movies. But the main villain of this one should be the Lizard!
