Sony Join Bidding War For Terminator Franchise Rights

TerminatorSalvation_Bale-thumb-550x350-11708Last year’s Terminator Salvation turned out to be nothing of the sort. Halycon Holding Group have gone bankrupt and are flogging the rights to the potential cash cow franchise. Although, to be honest, it was only Terminator 2: Judgement Day that creamed it in, and that was because Jimmy “Avatar” Cameron was behind it. No, what is on sale here, is a brilliant concept for movies. Christian Bale’s rant didn’t help it last summer, however, it did make more than enough to justify the prospect of making more. Is McG still deluded into thinking he’ll be able to finish his trilogy? Who knows…

Lionsgate have emptied their piggy banks and offered $15 million dollars and 5 per cent of future receipts. But now Sony Pictures have announced their interest and want it, goddamit! The studio partnered up with Warner Bros. to double team the franchise with Terminator Salvation, but they’re not done yet!

The auction is set for Monday 8th December and the winner will be announced. If you’re insane or rich, why not enter the world of movie business and have a punt on the rights? You’d probably get thrown in jail if you didn’t have the money to back it all up, but it’d be a laugh, no? It would also mean you and Christian Bale would be done, professionally. But maybe you can still be friends?
