Sherlock Holmes Goes Viral!
The announcement came earlier today, but being at work I didn’t have any sound godammit! Still, now in the safety of my sanctum sanctorum I do have sound, and have viewed thusly the first of what I believe will be many viral campaigns for Guy Ritchie’s SHERLOCK HOLMES, starring Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, Mark Strong and Rachel McAdams.
The initial find went to George ‘El Guapo’ Roush of Latino Review, who was posted a mystery package this morning containing therein two split cards. Once the cards were put together, they contained a phrase – “Widen Your Gaze – Mr. Holmes.”
The letter was sent from London, and the cards carrying the message also had printed on them a series of seemingly inconsequential numbers, which were in fact an IP Address. Tap the IP address into your browser and you’re taken to a viral site containing a little puzzle. Click on the question mark and up pops the command “find her,” by her it means the leading lady of the picture – IRENE. Type her name in to watch the viral video and register for further updates.
