Being one of the many easy-to-please fanboys for once, I actually really enjoy the Resident Evil movie franchise for what it is – uncomplicated, shallow entertainment involving guns, zombies and awesome soundtracks. So I’ve got no bones about telling you I’m pleased to announce that Resident Evil: Afterlife has been greenlit, according to Shock Till You Drop. They said on the matter:
Late last year, Paul W.S. Anderson revealed he was indeed writing another film. Capcom was getting involved. Everyone, as he said, was “excited.” Well, we’ve just learned from a studio insider that Sony is looking to get Resident Evil: Afterlife into theaters by September 17, 2010. That’s according to an internal memo circulating through the offices there.
So not only do we have a title, but we also have a date? Brilliant! Hopefully Milla Jovovich will make a return as Alice (considering the ending of the last one I think that’s a safe bet) I think I might re-watch the other three tonight - my brain needs a snooze!
