Who knew? Well okay everyone knew, after all, Indiana Jones is a Lucasfilm property and whenever has George Lucas let sleeping dogs lie?

Earlier this week I reported that Shia LaBeouf had let slip that Indiana Jones 5 was on the way, now I can confirm that it could be closer than we think. According to Indy producer Frank Marshall has confirmed that a follow up to Indiana Jones And The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has been green lit, and that while they’re still at the script-writing stage, they want to begin production sooner rather than later.

“It’s really about the script…Once we see that, we’ll see. We’re not going to wait another 20 years. We’d all love to make another one. I’m anxious to hear the idea!”

And Marshall’s anxiety is certainly not misplaced, Indy star Harrison Ford is on the cusp of his 67th year, so unless he trades in his whip for a walking frame time is definitely of the essence.
