Hot on the heels of Fox 2000′s “Alvin and the Chipmunks” and “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel” comes Warner Bros’ answer to iffy cartoon-to-film adaptations, Yogi Bear! News originally broke of the project back in October 2008 and earlier this year it was announced that “Journey to the Center of the Earth” director, Eric Brevig would helm the project. The film stars Dan Aykroyd, Anna Faris, Tom Cavanagh, T.J. Miller, Andrew Daly.

The official synopsis has been released for the picture and as I expected, it falls flat as far as I’m concerned, check it out below:

Live-Action/CG Animated Adventure in 3D. Everyone’s favorite pic-a-nic basket-stealing bear comes to the big screen in “Yogi Bear.” Jellystone Park has been losing business, so greedy Mayor Brown decides to shut it down and sell the land. That means families will no longer be able to experience the natural beauty of the outdoors — and, even worse, Yogi and Boo Boo will be tossed out of the only home they’ve ever known. Faced with his biggest challenge ever, Yogi must prove that he really is “smarter than the average bear” as he and Boo Boo join forces with their old nemesis Ranger Smith to find a way to save Jellystone Park from closing forever.
