Notorious Filmmaker Plans 3D Erotic Movie

tintoIt was only a matter of time, wasn’t it? James Cameron gave filmmakers the heads-up on his advancements in the medium and some pervy bright spark has gone, “Let’s make porn with this technology!” And that man, ladies and gentlemen, is Tinto Brass. Who? Well, back in 1980 the man was helming his masterpiece entitled Caligula. You must have heard about that and how its producers fired Brass and inserted hardcore porn scenes into a movie starring Helen Mirren, Peter O’Toole, Malcolm McDowell and Sir John Gielgud. SIR JOHN GIELGUD!!!

Speaking to the press, the man is obviousy still embittered about the whole farrago and plans to make the world’s first fuck flick in 3D. The Hollywood Reporter questioned him on his plans and what the subject matter of the film would be, apart from sex:

“To revisit an abandoned project about a Roman emperor that was ruined by Americans, and go from there.”

The crazy old director is working on a script right this very moment and wants to film it in the summer. Is this a case of wishful thinking? Who apart from curiosity seekers and pervs will go and sit in the dark whilst watching 3D boobs, dicks and god knows what else flying about? “It’s art!” They’ll cry.

In the 1970s, Stanley Kubrick and writer Terry Southern toyed with the idea of making a sexually explicit mainstream picture entitled Blue Movie. Nothing became of it, but Kubrick went on to direct the masterpiece Eyes Wide Shut in 1999 which had loads of tits and arse on display during an orgy scene. Films such as Intimacy and 9 Songs were on the fringes of the mainstream, but were dismissed as art house.

Tinto Brass has peddled lush visuals with “erotic” overtones for years. Some of his classic include All Ladies Do It, Voyeur, Miranda and Snack Bar Budapest. Caligula was plotted to be his zenith, but ended his nadir. So yeah, is the future of cinema going to be SexD?

God it’s a slow news day…
