Neve Campbell “Pretty Sure” Wes Craven Is On For Scream 4

Wes-Craven-Neve-CampbellCourtney Cox and David Arquette are signed, Neve Campbell is on board (just) but the one man that film fans everwhere are hoping will be making a comeback for Scream 4 is the series’ creator, director Wes Craven. Back in October the “A Nightmare on Elm Street” and “Scream” creator, Wes Craven has previously said that there was a possibility he’d return to the series provided the script was good enough.

Now, speaking to Black Book Magazine, SCREAM queen Neve Campbell says she’s pretty sure that the master of horror is on board for Scream 4, the first in a new trilogy:

I’m pretty sure at this stage that Wes [Craven] is back on board to direct and Kevin [Willamson] is definitely writing it…so it is going to be great.

The question remains if Wes Craven is now confirmed, or if this is Campbell’s own speculation? Should Craven have signed on the dotted line then based on his previous comments this would mean that a first draft of the film has already been turned in. Campbell, who currently lives in London, went on to describe her character, Sidney Prescott, and it seems that fitness levels and acting aside, Sidney Prescott is all about – er – the ‘do. In what could easily have been an advert for Loreal/Herbal Essences/Tresemme:

Physically speaking, it’s all about working the bob! And the only way I can achieve that properly every day on set is through Tara Smith hair products. Seriously, if Tara didn’t cut and style my hair in an amazing girly way to re-create the Sidney look, I wouldn’t have a starting point [for the character]. I’m not kidding. Hers are the only products I can use without killing my hair and skin, as they are 100% organic and free of chemicals.

Scream 4 is set to begin shooting in April 2010, stay tuned for further updates!
