More News From Sex And The City 2!

It’s been quite a while since I reported on anything remotely “Sex and the City-esque” so I thought it was about time I brought you some updates from the Sex and the City 2 camp!

First up is the news that Giles Marini, the actor who played Samantha Jones’ hunky neighbour in Sex and the City The Movie last year will not be returning for the sequel. Earlier this year the actor voiced his interest in reprising his role for the sequel, due out in 2010 saying:

“There’s a lot of talks. I’m not sure what’s going on yet. Only [writer/director] Michael Patrick King will tell me the future in a phone call.”

However, his spokesperson recently addressed the issue, speaking to E! Online’s Marc Malkin his spokesperson said:

“As far as I know, he will not be in the sequel.”

In other SATC news, production has begun on the film in New York. Areas of midtown have been quietly closed off as evidenced by the “no parking” signs “Untitled Project” from Warner Bros. So if any readers find themselves in the area please send us your pictures!

However production will be taking the girls to places far more exotic than downtown New York, Cinema Blend have recently discovered that as much as five weeks of the film’s production time will be spent in Morocco! Which cast members will be going to Morocco and what they’ll be doing there is a mystery at this point, however the popular theory seems to be that someone might be paying a trip to an adoption agency whilst in the area…

Sex and the City 2 is scheduled stars Kim Cattrall, Sarah Jessica Parker, Chris Noth, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon. The film is scheduled for UK release on 28th May 2010.
