Joe Cornish isn’t just the taller half of the UK’s favourite geek double act. Yes, Adam & Joe are brilliant but lately Joe has been forging a pretty impressive career in screenwriting.
It seems that he isn’t content with just co-writing the script for Spielberg’s Tintin: The Secret Of The Black Unicorn. His solo project has finally been confirmed to start shooting in February.
Attack The Block is about a group of Londoners that have to defend their tower block from invading aliens. Sci-Fi comedy is well up his street and I’m positive the script is littered with clever and obscure references from the entire spectrum of pop culture.
The film will be co-produced between Big Talk and Optimum. Will Clarke, CEO of optimum releasing is predicting big things.
“Attack The Block is one of the most inventive and entertaining scripts we have ever read… we look forward to seeing the film come alive and thrilling audiences around the world”
Sounds great so far, no doubt a role for Joe’s mate Adam might be in order and chances are we have another great little movie from the Brits.
Could it be as big as Shaun Of The Dead?
