What did you all think of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? Did you all like the CGI monkeys and gophers? Yeah, thought so. The film was a major disappointment for a lot of people (I loved it, for some reason), but raked in lots of money on its release in 2008. During press junket duties for new “real life” drama Extreme Measures, Ford discussed with MTV the prospect of further adventures for one of cinema’s greatest heroes and pondered what it might be about:
“I think it would be interesting to advance the understanding of the character, as we always have had that ambition throughout the series. I think it would be interesting to deepen the relationship between he and his son and play on that relationship. … It’s full of opportunity. The series is full of opportunity.”
Ford is approaching 68 years of age, so George Lucas better get a hurry on with the script. Although, to be honest, Lucas ruined the last one with his bloody meddling. Asked if there’s going to be another shortly, Ford said:
“I don’t think I’ll do it in a wheelchair. George [Lucas] is working on an idea, and if it comes to a fruitful stage, all of us are very interested in making another.”
So there you have it (kind of). Indiana Jones will return for more adventures…or so its star hopes. Will fans hold a New Hope that it won’t be as underwhelming as the fourth installment? What about Indiana Jones and Stenner Stairlift To Heaven? Just throwing that out there.

Lucas 'meddling'.. let's not forget he did co-write the other insanely good Indiana Jones. I think it's more a case of let's hope Lucas finds his midas touch again. Saying that, I'm with you, I liked the last one, it was a great romp. It's better than most films out there, just not as good as the previous, which are some of the best films ever.
