Believe me that’s one big question mark. Ghostbusters fans have been clamouring all year for news on the long-awaited threequel, Ghostbusters 3. Throughout the year we’ve had a slow, “drip-drip” of news feeding through to the net regarding the project, but we’ve still to have anything concrete. Until today.
Bloody Disgusting have confirmed (via an unnamed source) that Ivan Reitman, director of Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II will be returning behind the lens for the third outing – although nobody seems to know exactly in what capacity at this point.
If BD’s sources are to be believed (which we’ll assume they are), then Reitman is likely on board as producer at this point, but he is also believed to be thinking long and hard about whether he’ll be returning to the director’s chair again. According to BD:
I have straight up confirmed, 100%, without a shadow of a doubt that Ivan Reitman, director of Ghost Busters and Ghostbusters II, is in fact attached to get behind the camera for Ghostbusters 3. While he’s attached, the word is that he hasn’t decided whether or not he really wants to direct, yet.
As we’ve previously confirmed, the main cast have all confirmed their interest in the project, although at this point there doesn’t seem to be anything more concrete than that. Still, at least Reitman’s on board right?
