David Tennant Joins Burke And Hare

david_tennant_03Everyone’s favourite Doctor Who, actor David Tennant will be joining Simon Pegg in Burke and Hare according to Bloody Disgusting. The film, which tells the story of two of Britain’s most infamous grave robbers, will be directed by “American Werewolf in London” director, John Landis.

News originally broke back in August that Pegg and Landis would be bringing the macabre tale to life. Burke and Hare began their career robbing graves in Scotland in the 1800’s. Grave robbing was a booming business at the time, as there were very few legitimate cadavers for use by medical science, as such the grizzly trade was big business. However with a shortage of good corpses to profit from, it wasn’t long before the pair were committing murder to fulfill demand. Happy Monday eh?

The screenplay for the new adaptation has been written by Piers Ashworth and Nick Moorcroft, and good news for the British Film Industry – production will take place at the home of “The Ladykillers” and “St Trinians” – Ealing Studios!

This is one project I’m very much looking forward to, two of my favourite actors under the direction of John Landis seems to good to be true! Keep em peeled for more updates on this – and believe me there will be more!
