Riddle me this, bat-fans. What’s tall, dark, oh forget it. Word on the internet grapevine is actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt is on Christopher Nolan’s shortlist to play none other than the nefarious prankster, The Riddler, in Batman 3. Of course it won’t be called Batman 3, but that’s what we’ll call it for lack of a proper title…for now.

Gordon-Levitt proved he could play a villain in Stephen Sommers ridiculous but entertaining if you’re brain dead film, G.I. JOE: Rise of Cobra. In fact, he was best thing in the entire film giving it a level of respect and knowing-ness it might not have achieved otherwise.

Hollywood Life are the peeps spreading this “rumour” like horse muck on a bed of roses. Will produce a news-story or remain festering like, well, shit. If there’s a modicum of truth to the story, then it’s very cool news indeed.

However it smacks of being premature. The film’s script is still being devised and maybe the rumor came about simply because Gordon-Levitt stars in Christopher Nolan’s next big flick – Inception. We won’t be seeing a new Batman until summer 2012, so it’s a long way to go yet, folks.
