If you haven’t heard of Facebook then you are obviously not of this planet. If you haven’t heard of the rags-to-riches film based on Facebook – THE SOCIAL NETWORK – the you obviously aren’t getting a high enough dosage of FilmShaft.
Either way, I’m here to tell you that the casting rumours have begun for the film, which tells the story of Facebook’s founder Mark Zuckerberg and is being directed by David Fincher.
Not that long ago, ScriptShadow got their hands on a early script for the film and laid bare the contents for the world to see, now it seems they’ve done in again! According to the site (and confirmed by The Playlist) Jesse Eisenberg will star in The Social Network as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg; Justin Timberlake is lined up to play Internet entrepreneur Sean Parker and Andrew Garfield is set to play Eduardo Saverin. For those not in the know, Saverin was Facebook’s co-creator and was apparently betrayed by Zuckerberg in favour for big bucks.
The site does stress that no casting has yet been confirmed – that is to say that the actors/singer have read for the parts but no deal has been signed.
So what do we think folks? Inspired casting or kind of obvious? I personally think that Eisenberg is the only real choice to play Zuckerberg, what do you think?
