Camp Rock 2 Announced
It only seems like yesterday that my younger brother and sister were going bananas over Camp Rock, starring Demi Lovato, Joe Jonas, Alyson Stoner and Nick and Kevin Jonas. In fact it was last year, and in true Disney “High School Musical” style a sequel to the film has already been announced!
The imaginatively titled Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam will feature a new writer AND director, but fans will be happy to hear that Demi Lovato and The Jonas Brothers are both returning for the film. According to THR, Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam sees Lovato and Joe Jonas return to camp rock for the Summer only to find many of the students and instructors have left in favour of nearby Camp Star!
Other cast members returning for the sequel include Meaghan Jette Martin, Maria Canals-Barrera, Alyson Stoner and Daniel Fathers. Joining them this year will be newcomers Matthew “Mdot” Finley and Chloe Bridges, an accomplished 17-year-old classical pianist.
According to According to Disney the film will borrow from Shakespeare, including a “Romeo and Juliet” moment in which Camp Rock’s Nate (Nick Jonas) falls for Dana (Bridges), the daughter of Camp Star’s owner.
Check back soon for further updates, in the meantime I feel violated by the cheesiness of it all and so will be scrubbing myself with wire wool.
