Two More Actors Set To Join The `Woman In Black`

Janet McTeer and the ace Ciarán Hinds have signed on the dotted line to star alongside Daniel Radcliffe in James Watkin’s adaptation of Susan Hill’s classic ghost story, The Woman in Black.

Hinds will play the local land-owner Mr. Daily, who warns young Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe) that Eel Marsh House isn’t exactly a place to wondering about after dark, or even during daylight hours. Janet McTeer will play the role of Mrs. Daily.

Earlier in the summer I spoke to James Watkins about his forthcoming production – and even discussed the fact it might not be in 3D after all. To read our exclusive interview click James Watkins Interview. Turns out he won the battle too.

The Woman In Black has been written by Kick-Ass screenwriter Jane Goldman and begins shooting on 23rd September for a late 2011 release. Perhaps they’ll keep the announcement of who’ll play the vengeful ghost a secret?

The Woman In Black is the story a young London solicitor sent the north east of England to oversee the funeral and papers of a client, Mrs. Alice Drablow. Once there he is warned about the sinister and supernatural goings-on, but laughs it off as local superstition. When he spies a grieving young woman dressed entirely in black at at the back of the church during the ceremony, Arthur Kipps world and his believes are severely tested, pushing him to the brink of madness.

Stay tuned for more news on this production in the coming months. The original 1989 television movie contains one of the scariest moments ever. Will Watkins’ new film top it?

The Social Network will received its world premiere on 24th September before rolling out in early October. News came recently that Trent Reznor was providing the score. On top of an Aaron Solkin script and with the Finch directing, this could be very, very good.

First Look: New Pinhead Revealed In Hellraiser: Revelations

What a great way to liven up a dull Tuesday afternoon. Shock Till You Drop have got their mitts on two stills depicting the new Pinhead in Hellraiser: Revelations. The movie was steamrollered into production due to Dimension Films losing the rights to the series in 2011 if a new instalment wasn’t made. Hence this new stab.

So what do you think of this new Pope of Pain? Is he a match for Doug Bradley’s creation? Maybe that isn’t the point. After all, this new character is called Pseudo-Pinhead and will be played by Stephen Smith Collins. No, me neither.

Hellraiser: Revelations is a stand alone entry into the canon and is what was once known as a quota quickie. Victor Garcia is directing from a Gary Tunicliffe screenplay.

Tuncliffe’s script sees two friends played by Jay Gillespie and Nick Eversman backpacking in Mexico who stumble across the Lament configuration thus opening the doors to another realm of experience. But then one of them decides he doesn’t want to be Pinhead’s bitch and plots a nefarious scheme to swap himself with a friend!

If you want to know the story behind why we’re not getting a Hellraiser remake proper, you can read all about that troubled saga here.
