Two Promotional Clips For Toy Story 3

Disney have sent us two promotional clips for Toy Story 3. The first clip, entitled “Security Camera” has a bit of a Paranormal Activity/Blair Witch vibe about it, the second clip, simply called “Gadgets” is a funny (if not true) look at how Toy Story’s original audience (that’s us) have grown up and the gadgets we now surround ourselves with.

Check out both clips below and treat yourself to a child-like giggle on this Wednesday evening, enjoy!

The creators of the beloved “Toy Story” films re-open the toy box and bring moviegoers back to the delightful world of our favourite gang of toy characters in TOY STORY 3. As Andy prepares to depart for college, Buzz, Woody and the rest of his loyal toys are troubled about their uncertain future. Directed by Lee Unkrich (co-director of “Toy Story 2” and “Finding Nemo”), TOY STORY 3 is a comical new adventure in Disney Digital 3D™ that lands the toys in a room full untamed tots who can’t wait to get their sticky little fingers on these “new” toys.

It’s pandemonium as they try to stay together, ensuring “no toy gets left behind.” Meanwhile, Barbie comes face to plastic face with Ken (yes, that Ken). Pixar veteran Darla K. Anderson (“Cars,” “Monsters, Inc.”) produces, while Michael Arndt, Academy Award®-winning screenwriter of “Little Miss Sunshine,” brings his unique talents and comedic sensibilities.

First Look: Noomi Rapace In Sherlock Holmes 2

Noomi Rapace is undoubtedly the movie icon of 2010. Her performance as Lisbeth Salander in the Millennium Trilogy has brought her much international attention and many fans. She’s bagged her first Hollywood role in Sherlock Holmes 2 and a production still has been released online showing her with the lads (Holmes and Watson) in a scene.

Quite what the scene is about remains a mystery (is it an explosion?) since we’re given no context, but her outfit is most intriguing. She looks like a cowgirl despite rumours she’s playing a gypsy.

Whether or not Rachel McAdams returns as Irene Adler still hasn’t been cleared up but Stephen Fry is definitely starring in the new adventure as Mycroft Holmes, Sherlock’s older bro. Back as the dynamic duo are Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law and also appearing is Jared Harris as Professor Moriarty.

Sherlock Holmes 2 will be released from December 16, 2011. Guy Ritchie is shouting, “Action, me old china plate!” and Joel Silver will be barking orders at minions as producer.

Expect plot details, more images and a trailer in the early part of next year. Holmes did decent business for the team involved and was undoubtedly Guy Ritchie’s biggest gig to date. Will Holmes 2 repeat the trick?

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance Set Photos and Video!

Call me an old-fashioned Catholic but I believe in redemption. And I believe Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance can be redeemed in the eyes of movie-goers. Cinematic redemption comes in the form of a David S. Goyer treatment, the bonkers duo Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine and a great cast including a returning Nicolas Cage, Violante Placido, Ciaran Hinds and Idris Elba. There’s no guarantees here but it’s a start.

These set photos aren’t the best quality in the world, but they do show production is well and truly under way. The sequel to the 2007 let down is taking place in Romania and Turkey. Again the set video is a bit ho-hum, but at least it shows you the non-exciting side of movie making.

A few weeks ago we also reported the film’s budget had been slashed from $135 million dollars to $75 million.
That’s still a lot of change to play with but Sony have so much invested in Spider-Man, Men in Black 3 and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo they’ve set up a co-finance deal with Hyde Park Entertainment.

Nicolas Cage has also taken a pay cut of $5 million and will now be paid around $7 million dollars for his reprisal at Johnny Blade/Ghost Rider. Apparently his agency, CAA, weren’t best pleased with this financial re-jigging, but Cage is committed to the character and the new film.

With a massive cut in the budget it remains to be seen what will be jettisoned from Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine’s script. One imagines it’ll be a set piece or four. Filming is imminent and taking place in Romania and Turkey. Joining Cage is ace Irish actor Ciaran Hinds, Idris Elba, Violante Placido and Johnny Whitworth.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance sees Johnny Blaze battling the Devil when he decides to take possession of a young lad’s soul on his birthday. Turns out it’s Blaze’s own son!

The film is being produced by Mike deLuca, Avi Arad and Ashok Armitraj and directed by Crank duo Taylor and Neveldine from a story by David S. Goyer.
