Kristy Swanson Is Pro-Buffy The Vampire Movie

Kristy Swanson has taken a different opinion to Joss Whedon regarding the Warner Bros. redo of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. FilmShaft thinks its sacrilege and will continue to do so because nothing will ever beat the t.v. series or Joss Whedon. Ever.

Anyhoo. Swanson spoke very recently about the whole farrago and thinks its a great idea, then asked for a role since she, on a technicality, is the first embodiment of Buffy Summers.

“If they wanted me to be a part of it, I think that would be fantastic and that it would be a blast.”

Nobody’s asked. She went on to say:

“There are die-hard Joss Whedon fans who absolutely love him to death, and rightly so; he’s a brilliant man, no doubt. I love everything Buffy. I don’t care who’s doing it.”

Apparently EW asked Side Show Luke Perry for a comment but he was unavailable. Probably off somewhere with his half-brother Krusty The Clown and Mr. Tiny.

The 1992 movie – which Whedon doesn’t like – starred Kristy Swanson, Donald Sutherland, Rutger Hauer, Paul Reubens and David Arquette. It’s not dreadful but it’s not the television show either. The makers Fran and Rubel Kuzui clearly didn’t get Whedon’s material.

Will fans warm to the project in time or is it opening a Hellmouth of anger and resentment?

Names And Plot Details Released For Wolverine 2 – Updated

UPDATE 30/10/10 – Yesterday night we recieved an email from 20th Century Fox’s legal team asking us to remove details of Wolverine 2. Naturally, being an accomodating sort of guy I complied, but if you do want a lowdown on the kind of story Wolverine 2 will be telling, you need look no futher than the excellent Wolverine by Chris Claremont & Frank Miller. It was Wolvie’s first solo outing and pretty much sums up the kind of story you can look forward to come 2011.

29/10/10 – Last week we received an email detailing alleged plot details of Ridley Scott’s Alien Prequel, this week the film of the moment seems to be Wolverine 2, the sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine which is set to be directed by Darren Aronofsky.

The leak came via Pajiba and their inside source and seems to detail the story in it’s entirety. Be warned, because there are lots of spoilers ahead:

[Removed at the request of 20th Century Fox]

Pajiba’s story has already been removed by dilligent Fox lawyers, which gives this story a little more weight. As for the story itself, it does sound like classic Wolverine (although I was hoping for a return visit from Sabretooth) and should sit well with fans, also it sounds pretty damn good so far!

Tom Felton For Third Twilight Film?

With the lines between the Harry Potter and Twilight franchises beginning to blur as it is, this most recent move confuses things even more for the uninitiated. “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” star Tom Felton (otherwise known as Draco Malfoy) has Twilight fans gushing at the moment – for him to star in the 2010 follow up Twilight Eclipse.

According to the site, Twilight fans are clamouring for Felton to play Victoria’s lackey Riley in next years follow up to The Twilight Saga: New Moon. The 2010 movie (known imaginatively as The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) would see Felton join teen heartthrob Robert Pattinson on screen for the third time during his career, as the pair both had supporting roles in two previous HP installments.

“Ill be ready when they want me! Really, I’m only joking. Im not really sure at this point; but you will be the first to know if I find out anything!” Tom told his fansite, Feltbeats.com. He reiterated the sentiment on his Twitter, saying, “i keep getting asked if im being cast as Riley in Twilight! Ill let you all know if so!!!”

So what do the Twilighters of the world think? Would Felton be a good choice for Riley? Or would you prefer someone along the lines of scriptwriter Melissa Rosenberg’s suggestion of Channing Tatum?
