Clash Of The Titans To Be Released In 3D (Harry Potter too!)

Yep. Just last week we reported on how the suits at Warner Bros. ordered Clash Of The Titans to have some cosmetic film treatment and be converted into 3D. Well, Heat Vison Blog are saying it’s been such a success they’re pushing back the film’s release to 2nd April in order to get ship shape and Bristol fashion. There’s been no official word, but don’t let that stop you! Rumor has it the execs at Warner are so enamored with the results they’re all shuffling around Howard Hughes-like muttering, “It’s the way of the future.”

They clearly think so because the world’s favorite wizard (no, not Gandalf Stormcrow), Harry Potter will be having his swan song put out in 3D – both parts! There was always going to be some serious coinage reaped from the last film. But now there’s the added thrill of 3D. The techno boffins are rushing to convert the first part of The Deathly Hallows for its 19th November release. The final part follows in the summer of 2011. So they’ll be tears as well as whoops of amazement at Harry’s head in 3D… probably.

Now what to make of 3D. Was the 1950s technology just too ahead of its time, or is it still a load of gimmicky nonsense that is quite distracting? I like to think cinema is a broad church and art form, so why not have all kinds of it?
