World War Z Gets A New Writer

matthew-michael-carnahanWorld War Z, the post apocalyptic horror film based on the book of the same name, has found a writer – and his name is Matthew Michael Carnahan.

You may have heard of Carnahan you may not, he contributed to Smokin’ Aces, produced Lions for Lambs and wrote The Kingdom so he’s been around a while and he’s a very talented guy. Carnahan takes over from J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5, Changeling) to pen a new draft of the script for Plan B Entertainment and Paramount Pictures.

World War Z is the follow on novel from The Zombie Survival Guide, and follows several story threads to tell how humanity copes in a global fight against this grey menace. The film will be directed by Quantum of Solace helmer Marc Forster. Max Brookes, author of the series said of Carnahan signing:

“He’s one of Hollywood’s hot A-list writers, so if they went after him and paid him a mountain of gold, it definitely shows their confidence in this project.”
