Twilight fans can now breathe a sigh of relief as The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn has been green-lit by Summit Entertainment!
According to sources, the fourth and final story in Stephanie Meyer’s series will be released in two parts and production will once again take place in Portland, Oregon. In addition a new production company, Sunswept Entertainment, has been brought in for Breaking Dawn, which is due to shooting in September 2010.
Creator of Sunswept Entertainment, Karen Rosenfelt will produce, Rosenfelt also served as Producer on “Twilight” and “The Twilight Saga: New Moon“. A director has not yet been attached to the project.
According to sources there will likely be heavy censoring of Breaking Dawn’s explicit sex and birth scenes in order to avoid an ‘R’ rating. Although Summit have not confirmed that the film will be shot in two parts, author Stephanie Meyer has stated:
“It would have to be made into multiple movies because it’s hard to imagine it fitting into ninety minutes”.
Fans have recently shown concern over the fate of the movie, which was the only part of the series not to have a confirmed production schedule. The second film in the series, “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” is due in theatres on 20th November 2009 and the third story in the series, “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” is currently in production in Vancouver.

What explicit sex scene? The sex scene is not described in the book. They basically go to bed, and then get up the next day; like hundreds of movies where the scene cuts away, and we fill it in using our imagination based on what happened right before and what the characters are like after.

I totally agree. There are NO real sex scenes in the book. They have to keep it the same as the book. Otherwise ill cry.
BUT YAY FOR THE MOVIES BEING CONFIRMED!!
they coul make it into 5 movies if they wanted. The more the better!!
They should shove it into one movie, and cut out a lot of the unnecessary junk. Maybe now they will create a more epic ending than everybody standing around chatting. Seriously, that was the lamest ending of a book quartet she possibly could have come up with. :-/

There is no explicit sex scene only them romping around in the water and in their cottage which is seen in tons of other PG-13 movies, but I hope they keep the caesarian by Edward in… I don't really want them to change anything ESPECIALLY THE ENDING, it is completely unique that the ending is a passive one instead of one strewn with violence.

I must confess I've never read the book, I could only go by what the news source had said in that instance so apologies, although I'm sure there are many R-Patz fans who would've loved an explicit scene of sorts!

Explicit Sex Scene?!? Where?!? Send me a copy!!! The pathetic “fade-to-black” sex scene in Breaking Dawn was such a let down! If I don't get to see Robert and Kristen getting down and dirty, please don't even make the movie. There are a lot of adults who read this series and see the movies. There is even a Twilight site just for moms who love twilight. The twelve year olds who love Twilight will just have to wait until they are old enough to see rated R movies. And trust me, they will be thankful in the end!

I agree with you 100% all of the books in the series were really good then Breaking Dawn comes out and we're all excited only to find out the big Ending turns out to be Bella, Edward and Aro standing around discussing what's going to happen in their pathetic lives. Breaking Dawn distroyed the whole series. TWILIGHT IS PATHETIC!
Now Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series is a good read that will have you on the edge of your seat right until you turn the final page. Bella and Edward PLEASE. and Stephanie Meyer cant write for shit she copied everything from her Twilight Series off of the Vampire Diaries series.

YES…and while you're at it, hire a new screenwriter! Melissa Rosenberg is horrible!
I strongly believe that Breaking Dawn should have a PG-13 or R rating. This is the most serious book…it deals with a lot of heavy material.
Summit, please stop gearing these movies towards the tweens and teens..start thinking about the adults who love this book too! Breaking Dawn was NOT a book for kids.

When I read Breaking Dawn…I was a little disappointed when Bella drifted off into the water…and then woke up the next morning in bed…I was like…wait..there's no juicy detail or even a little romance? I wouldn't mind a teaser scene in the movie (instead of a rated R scene)..but I wouldn't be totally surprised if it followed the actual story. I would be very distraught if they messed with the c-section scene. thats an important part in the story. its the birth of renesmee…how can u mess that one up?
