Trailer: Paranormal Activity

Published on September 16, 2009 by Craig Sharp   ·   View Comments

paranormalactivityIn a brilliant effort to maximise “The Blair Witch Effect”, the trailer for Paranormal Activity has been released – and it’s taking the Internet by storm!

Going for the “real life” home video angle, Paranormal Activity has gone some way to revive the “is it, isn’t it” feeling that audiences had when presented apparently authentic video footage a decade ago by a little film known as The Blair Witch Project.

The trailer itself is footage from a screening of the film, and the audience’s reaction to what they’re seeing. The synopsis further lends to the idea that this film footage is real, and not directed, written and produced by Oren Peli and starring Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat, check it out below:

Paranormal Activity is a terrifying supernatural thriller featuring shocking footage of a demonic haunting. Katie and Micah were enjoying a happy, carefree life. Their future looked promising until bizarre events began occurring at night. Katie was no stranger to paranormal phenomena – she had been stalked by a malevolent entity since childhood, and she feared that it had followed her to their new home. They purchased a video camera to find out what was happening at night as they slept.

Over the course of three weeks in September & October of 2006, they ran nightly surveillance and captured indelible proof on home video, which has been edited into the feature film Paranormal Activity.

Paranormal Activity is getting a limited release in the US, but if it isn’t showing in your area you can DEMAND IT by heading here. Sadly, there is no UK release date as yet.
