The Extraordinary Adventures Of Adele Blanc-Sec

“The year is 1912. Adèle Blanc-Sec, an intrepid young reporter, will go to any lengths to achieve her aims, including sailing to Egypt to tackle mummies of all shapes and sizes.

Meanwhile, in Paris, it’s panic stations! A 136 million-year old pterodactyl egg on a shelf in the natural history museum has mysteriously hatched, and the bird subjects the city to a reign of terror from the skies. But nothing fazes Adèle Blanc-Sec, whose adventures reveal many more extraordinary surprises…”

adele-blanc-sec-posterI absolutely love the sound of Luc Besson’s forthcoming project and to go with the brilliant plot we have an equally brilliant poster to go with it. Starring stunning former weather girl turned actress Louise Bourgoin this seems to work as a cross between Tintin and Indiana Jones.

Based on a series of French comic books by Jacques Tardi, Besson plans to make a trilogy. The first film will feature plots from 3 of the comic books including Adele & The Beast, The Mad Scientist and Mummies On Parade.

This film seems to have popped up out of nowhere. Luc Besson has a habit of keeping his projects very close to his chest. With a French release date of 14th April 2010 and a UK release date nowhere to be seen as yet I will definitely pop over to Paris when it comes out.

There is always something special about Luc Besson and his work, I have been a fan for ages and I can’t wait for this one.

As for Miss Bourgoin, well… huge star of the future perhaps?
