BUP_Intl_BUP-01146 The film career of Jennifer Lopez has been quiet of late. She’s been busy being a global pop star instead. Which is quite a shame because she when she can be bothered, she’s a great actress. The beginnings of her rise to stardom saw her acting in serious films or quirky stuff like U-Turn. A lot of the younger generation will probably never know she appeared in films before taking the singing route. For them she’s Jenny from the Block or J-Lo and one half of the whole Bennifer thing. God, I bet Ben Affleck still cringes at appearing in THAT video…and Gigli.

So here Miss Lopez back on our screens in May for the release of The Back-Up Plan. It’s a rom-com, so she’s dipping her toe back into the movie pool to see what temperature the public opinion is. The premise is intriguing enough: a woman hasn’t found Mr. Right/Man of Her Dreams/Anybody and gets artificially inseminated (like she’d need that in real life)…only for Mr. Right to walk into her life. Who’d have thunk it?

This is definitely a chick-flick, but what the hell, I enjoyed Maid in Manhattan and not afraid to say it! And Lopez is still smokin’ hot after all these years.
