Super Max Getting A Rewrite

green_arrowIt’s been over a year since we had any real update on the script treatment for DC Comics’ The Green Arrow (entitled Super Max), however MTV recently got the chance to speak to writer/producer David Goyer about the highly touted treatment, written by Justin Marks.

Super Max, or Supermax: The Green Arrow, saw the title character fall on the wrong side of the law. Finding himself incarcerated in a super maximum security prison alongside the worlds Supervillains (including Lex Luthor, The Joker, The Riddler and more), The Green Arrow is forced to plan an escape with some of DC’s most famous rogues.

“We’re working on that. We’re about to bring on another writer,” Goyer told MTV News. “Obviously, Warner Bros. is now heavily into mining all of the various DC properties.”

Despite the proposed rewrite, Goyer was happy to share one or two titbits about how such an ambitious script came about in the first place:

“We came up with the idea and thought it could work in either the Marvel or the DC universe,” he explained. “It needed that type of character and there are analogues in both universes. Green Arrow seemed to make the most amount of sense.”

As for whether or not we can expect to see Super Max any time soon however, Goyer was a little less accomodating:

“It’s definitely something we’re developing.”
