The second trailer for the hotly anticipated/sadly delayed SHUTTER ISLAND, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and directed by cinematic genius Martin Scorsese.

The second trailer looks truly fantastic, and goes some way to helping me understand why Paramount made the decision to push this film back – because it lands squarely in the middle of Oscar season!

From Oscar®-winning director Martin Scorsese, “Shutter Island” is the story of two U.S. marshals, Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo), who are summoned to a remote and barren island off the coast of Massachusetts to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a murderess from the island’s fortress-like hospital for the criminally insane.

Shutter Island also stars Mark Ruffalo and Ben Kingsley, the film (finally) gets it’s UK release 19th February 2010. Check out the new trailer below:
