Penelope Cruz Confirms Sex And The City Cameo

penelope-cruzVictoria Beckham, Miley Cyrus, Penelope Cruz. With the exception of all being A-List stars, the trio have very little else in common – that is of course except for a certain shoe known as Manolo Blahnik and a certain glitzy film sequel known as Sex and the City 2. All three have been tipped at one time or other to feature in the sequel to 2008’s Sex and the City, but until now getting confirmation has been difficult to say the least.

Speaking at a recent press junket for her latest film, Broken Embraces, Cruz made things a little easier for film fans by not only confirming her participation, but explaining her decision to join the fab four in the film, due out next year:

“That’s a little cameo that I did. I shot for half a day. I did a cameo because I’m a very big fan of the show, Sarah Jessica Parker and the first movie. But, they don’t really want me to say anything about the scene or the story.”

Rumour has it that Cruz will be joining SJP, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon in the second film based on the popular HBO series as a banker, although don’t expect her role to be too pivotal in the film. Speaking to MTV, Cruz was very clear that her role will be more “blink and you’ll miss it” than central to the story:

“I’m in it for very, very little time.”

So for now at least we can be sure that Cruz will be making her mark in next year’s sequel, now for the other two on that list…
