Earlier this week Scream fans were treated (kind of) to leaked footage of the Scream 4 teaser trailer which premiered at the Spike TV Scream Awards this past weekend. Well following the leaks, Dimension Pictures have now released the full Scream 4 teaser trailer online!

The trailer, which is an extended cut and features footage not seen at the Scream Awards, also gives us a glimpse at the new “rules” of horror as mentioned by Wes Craven previously:

“I think it has echoes to the first [film],” says director Wes Craven. “There’s been a whole decade of horror films that in one way or another followed a certain pattern. Like you had torture free porn, [and] a ton of remakes. The first [Scream] was very much observing where horror had been for the last 10 to 20 years. And this is very much looking at where horror has been for the last 10 years. There’s always somebody trying to figure out what the rules are to keep from getting killed.”

The horror series that reignited the genre and grossed more than $500 million worldwide is back! From Kevin Williamson, creator of the original Scream trilogy, the new film sees the return of cast members Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette along with a group of new stars, who can all hopefully stay alive long enough to figure out the new rules to this one-of-a-kind horror franchise!
