Kristin Stewart And Taylor Lautner On New Moon
“Twilight” and “The Runaways” actress Kristen Stewart was recently quoted as saying that of all the books in the series, the one story that “intimidated” her was The Twilight Saga: New Moon. The source of the intimidation? A complex love triangle that evolves between Bella Swan (Stewart), Jacob Black (Lautner) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) So of course when the lucky, lucky people over at MTV got the chance to interview Stewart and her co-star Taylor Lautner the question of the day was “so how does Bella’s relationship with Jacob Black compare to her’s with Edward Cullen?
Kristen Stewart: It’s such a different relationship; it’s like entirely original.
MTV: It seems much more playful.
Stewart: Yeah, exactly. They’re light; they actually have fun with each other. Edward and Bella are always so strange, you know?
Taylor Lautner: It’s always so tense.
Stewart: And only he can bring her out of that rut. Like, she literally is going to die; she’s going to stop eating and be done. And the only thing that brings her out of it is this lightness [Jacob] brings.
Robert Pattison fans may be set for disappointment with this latest release, the second story in the hugely popular Twilight series. Pattinson’s character, the vampiric Edward Cullen abandons his love, Bella Swan ultimately leaving her in deep depression. Yes folks, this film is far more “Team Jacob” that “Team Edward,” as Jacob and Bella soon find themselves growing ever closer on screen:
Lautner: ["New Moon"] is very complicated. There’s a lot of heartbreak, there’s a lot of things going on. Edward leaves at the beginning, she goes into this depression, I come to try and bring her out of it. Then I go through my own issues, and then she leaves me. It’s all over the place, and there’s a lot going on, and there’s many of those scenes that you described.
