Kill Bill 3 Not Happening For A While

kill_bill_vol1How long is a piece of string? Exactly. And when it comes to waiting for Quentin Tarantino to make a film, you can ask the same question…kind of. First Showing recently caught up with the American maestro and asked him for an update on all things Bride related, and he announced: “There’s no script, there are just ideas and notes…we’re getting there, we’re about one movie away.”

Tarantino resurrected his career after the ill-received Grindhouse with the mighty Inglourious Basterds. It is perhaps his most thoroughly enjoyable film since Pulp Fiction. It’s his biggest box office strike, too.

Kill Bill was his love letter to all things kung fu-related. If the first part was a lean, mean fighting machine, the second part was a rather bloated affair with a dull climax. Does the world need to hear from The Bride again after she settled her score? Probably not. However, Vernita Green’s daughter is looking out for revenge after The Bride killed her mother. The world definitely wouldn’t mind seeing more of Lt. Aldo Raine in an Inglourious Basterds prequel. Maybe even Hans Landa could come back, too. Now everybody, repeat: “We’re in the business of killin’ Nazis, and boy, business is boomin’.”
