Kate Hudson Takes Centre Stage in Nine Trailer #2

nine_croppedMany thought the Hollywood musical genre dead. In 2002, Rob Marshall’s sexy, Broadway show-turned-film Chicago, was garnered with Oscars and other prizes. Now he’s back with a brand new feature: NINE.

A brand new trailer has hit the web (and cinemas) showcasing Kate Hudson’s singing ability (quite impressive). The film is based on a Broadway show, in turn, based on Federico Fellini’s masterpiece

Daniel Day-Lewis gets to star alongside more hot actresses than you can shake a stick at (careful), including: Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard and Fergie from the Black-Eyed Peas.

In the film, Day-Lewis plays Guido Contini, a man undergoing a midlife crisis brought on by artistic inertia and his complex relationships with a variety of women in his life. This is a truly heavyweight Hollywood undertaking. Written by the late (and great) Anthony Minghella and Michael Tolkin, there’s potential for this to be massive.

Plus, Day-Lewis is notoriously choosy about his projects. So the chances of this being a total disaster are very slim. Judging from the trailer, its wall-to-wall babes, lush photography, great choreography and lots of singing. It might be just what the winter needs: a hot, exuberant, all-singing, all-dancing fantastic spectacle!
