Bryce Dallas Howard Talks Up "Epic" Twilight Eclipse Finale

bryce-dallas-howardIf you’re a guy say, aged 18-34 and you were left feeling a little deflated after the action-dodging first two installments of the Twilight franchise, Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon then have no fear – because according to series newcomer, Bryce Dallas Howard, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will feature an end sequence of epic proportions!

Now, when somebody uses the word “epic” to describe a battle scene, I automatically think of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. So can the third installment in the popular vampire series really compare? According to Howard, who replaces Rachelle Lefevre as vampy vixen Victoria in the third installment, it just might. This from MTV:

Unsurprisingly, and like many of the other “Eclipse” stars, Bryce said her favorite part of filming was the epic showdown at the end of the film between Victoria and her newborn vampire army and the double whammy of Cullens and werewolves.

“There’s quite an extraordinary finale,” she said. “That was very fun to do.”

Apparently Bryce was very cryptic about the scene, and didn’t want to give away too many details. She did say that the finale would trump the ballet studio scene in “Twilight” and the made-for-movie fight with the Volturi at the end of “New Moon.”

“The producers were saying it’s the biggest spectacle filmed thus far in this franchise,” she said. “There’s a newborn army that’s been raised for battle. It’s a true battle scene.”

So while in the first two installments, the story focused on the relationships between Edward, Bella and Jacob (played by tween heartthrobs Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner respectively), it looks like Eclipse might also be one for the guys.

Howard also expressed her feelings regarding Rachelle Lefevre’s rather public and unceremonious dumping by Summit Entertainment. When asked in a recent interview to give advice for someone taking over an existing role as she has, she replied:

‘We’ll see. The jury is still out, because Rachelle really created an incredible character and is exquisite.

‘I felt like the uproar that occurred was really appropriate, because part of the joy of seeing a franchise, it’s almost like a television series. You’ve seen the actors grow with the franchise.

‘And [Lefevre's] unavailability [to do Eclipse] was really, really, really unfortunate. Advice? Gosh. Just to do your best and be uber-respectful. She won that role for a reason. I hope to honor everything that she created.’

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse tears onto screens worldwide in Summer 2010.
